Pricing verified Sep 9, 2026 — TubeBuddy Pro $12.00/month, Legend $26.39/month, Enterprise custom pricing, the 20% annual saving, the feature grid and the Creator License Package footnote were read from tubebuddy.com/pricing on 9 September 2026 with monthly billing selected. vidIQ plan names and the free tier's 150 AI credits were read from vidiq.com/plans on 9 September 2026; the paid prices were not obtainable because the page served a bot-protection challenge, and no third-party figure is printed as fact.
Direct answer: TubeBuddy is a workflow tool that lives inside YouTube Studio — bulk editing, tag work, publishing tasks. vidIQ is an ideas-and-coaching tool built around telling you what to make next. If your bottleneck is managing a library, TubeBuddy. If it is deciding what to film, vidIQ.

TubeBuddy's figures were read from its pricing page on 9 September 2026 with the monthly-billing toggle selected; the page states an annual option saving 20%, and that prices are charged in US dollars. vidIQ's plans page returned a bot-protection challenge when we tried to read it, so we can confirm its plan names and free tier but not its paid prices. Third-party sites quote Boost around $19 a month; we are not printing that as fact.
The licence restriction most comparisons skip
TubeBuddy's pricing page states in a footnote that Pro, Star and Legend are Creator License Packages available to individual creators only, and not available to businesses — defined as having multiple channels on TubeBuddy, 50,000 or more subscribers, three or more channel managers, or 50 or more employees.
If you run several channels, manage a brand's channel with a team, or you are past 50k subscribers, the $12 and $26.39 plans are not the plans you are eligible for. That changes the comparison entirely and it is printed on TubeBuddy's own page.
What you actually get
TubeBuddy publishes its feature grid by licence tier: SEO Studio, keyword and search explorers, tag lists and tag rankings, best time to publish, channelytics, a demonetisation audit, and bulk processing and editing tools on Legend. Search rank tracking and auto-translator are marked "Limited" on Pro. The bulk tools are the reason people with a hundred-plus videos pay for it.
vidIQ publishes a free tier built around 150 AI credits a month, niche trend data, data-backed content ideas and an AI coach. The product is organised around ideation and personalised growth guidance rather than library management.
Who should pick which
- You have a back catalogue to fix — TubeBuddy. Bulk editing across dozens of videos is the thing vidIQ is not built for.
- You are stuck on what to make — vidIQ. Its free tier is a real trial of exactly that, at no cost.
- You are a brand, agency or team, or past 50k subscribers — read TubeBuddy's licence footnote before assuming the $12 plan applies to you.
- You are new and broke — start on both free tiers. Neither paid plan solves a problem a channel with ten videos actually has.
What we could not verify
vidIQ's paid prices are not printed above because we could not read them from vidIQ's own page. We did not verify TubeBuddy's annual prices, only the stated 20% saving. Treat each vendor's pricing page as authoritative over this one.
