Direct answer: Krisp does two jobs that most alternatives only do one of — it removes background noise at the microphone level in any app, and it takes AI meeting notes. If you only need the notes, cheaper tools exist. If you need the noise removal itself, the shortlist is much shorter.

If you want the notes, not the noise removal

Otter Pro at $8.33 a month billed annually and Fireflies Pro at $10 a seat billed annually both land under Krisp Core's $8 annual price only at list — Krisp Core is the cheaper of the three at $8 a month annually, and it includes the noise cancellation the other two do not sell. Month to month the picture flips slightly: Otter Pro at $16.99 is a few cents above Krisp Core at $16.

Fathom's free tier is the most generous of the note-takers, and its paid Team plan carries a 2-user minimum, which matters if you are one person.

If you want the noise removal specifically

NVIDIA Broadcast is free and effective, with one hard requirement: an NVIDIA RTX graphics card. On a laptop without one, it is not an option at any price. Krisp runs at the system audio layer on ordinary hardware, which is the reason it is a paid product at all.

Meeting platforms also ship their own noise suppression, included in what you already pay. If your calls happen entirely inside one platform, try that before buying anything.

Honest limits of this comparison

We have not run controlled audio tests against these tools, so nothing here ranks noise-removal quality. This page compares published prices, published plan contents and hardware requirements only.

Questions

How much does Krisp cost?

Core is $16 per user per month, or $8 per user per month billed annually. Advanced is $30 per user per month, or $15 billed annually. There is a 7-day free trial. Read from krisp.ai/pricing on 9 September 2026.

Is there a free Krisp alternative?

NVIDIA Broadcast is free for noise removal but requires an NVIDIA RTX graphics card. Fathom, Otter and Fireflies all publish free tiers, but those cover meeting notes rather than microphone-level noise cancellation. Read 9 September 2026.

Is Otter cheaper than Krisp?

Otter Pro is $16.99 per user per month, or $8.33 billed annually, against Krisp Core at $16 or $8 annually. Krisp Core is marginally cheaper on both terms and includes noise cancellation, which Otter does not sell. Read 9 September 2026.

What does Krisp do that note-takers do not?

It removes background noise at the microphone level across any application, rather than only transcribing and summarising a meeting.

Which Krisp alternative is best for a single user?

Fathom publishes a free forever tier and its paid Team plan has a 2-user minimum, so the free tier is the practical single-user option among the note-takers. Read 9 September 2026.
